Yes. Craig provides practical driving development for PDIs preparing for ADI Part 2. Advanced driving has formed a significant part of his own professional development, and this background is used to support PDIs preparing for Part 2 and instructors who want to develop their own driving standard. The focus stays on a consistently high driving standard rather than a temporary performance for the assessment.

Yes. Training focuses on developing a trainee's ability to teach, make decisions, manage risk, understand the learner and adapt appropriately, rather than learning a fixed lesson script. The KEEP Principle helps connect lesson structure, risk management, client-centred learning, reflection and decision-making into one coherent process. Part 3 is treated as part of a trainee's development as an educator rather than an isolated test.

Yes. Craig works with qualified ADIs who want support preparing for or reflecting on a Standards Check, with the objective of developing the instructor's everyday teaching rather than producing a special performance solely for the assessment.

Craig's approach is based around developing the person as an educator rather than simply teaching somebody how to reproduce a particular method for an assessment. His experience across driver training, coaching, teaching, assessment and advanced driving contributes to an approach based on understanding what's happening, making purposeful decisions and adapting when something isn't working. This is reflected in the KEEP Principle, which he developed and which is used within Instruct IQ.

The KEEP Principle is a structured approach to teaching and development created by Craig at Instruct IQ. KEEP stands for Knowledge, Enable, Examine, Progress or Pivot — a repeatable structure for understanding a learner's current position, enabling learning, examining what actually happened, and deciding whether to progress or adapt the approach. It's designed to complement client-centred learning and the DVSA National Standards rather than replace them, helping instructors make purposeful decisions rather than simply following a lesson routine or teaching by habit. Craig is also the author of The KEEP Principle: From Winging It to Working It, which develops the framework for use by PDIs, ADIs and instructor trainers.

Craig achieved the IAM Advanced Driving qualification in 2007 and has been involved with Hereford RoADAR since 2007, supporting full licence holders working towards the RoSPA Advanced Driving Test. In 2026 he achieved his seventh RoSPA Gold advanced-driving result. This experience is particularly relevant to Part 2 development, where PDIs are expected to demonstrate a consistently high standard of driving rather than simply understand driving theory.

Yes. Craig became a DVSA Approved Fleet Instructor in 2004 and has experience within fleet and professional driver development. His wider training background has included work with different types of drivers rather than being limited solely to learner-driver tuition.

Coaching has formed a significant part of Craig's work in driver and instructor development. His professional development also includes a Diploma in Counselling Skills & Theory (Dip CST) and a Certificate in Hypnotherapy Counselling Skills (Cert Hyp CS), alongside membership of the National Hypnotherapy Society, Fellow status with the Association of Road Risk Managers, and Mental Health First Aid training. Through WyeDrive, this has included supporting learners who experience anxiety or need a more individualised approach to learning, which informs his communication and coaching as an instructor trainer.

Through WyeDrive, Craig has experience supporting learners with specific learning needs and learners who may struggle in more traditional driving-learning environments, including anxious learners. This experience contributes to his instructor-development work by providing practical examples of why instructors need to understand the person they're teaching and adapt their approach.

Craig's career has included more than conventional learner-driver instruction — spanning PDI and ADI development, fleet-driver training, advanced driving, RoADAR advanced-driver development, and supporting anxious and additional-needs learners. He has also spoken publicly about opportunities to work with a variety of drivers during his career, including disabled drivers and some close-protection driver training.

Craig is a co-founder of Instruct IQ alongside Josh Holleran. His work includes instructor development, PDI training, coaching, client-centred learning and the development of AI-supported tools for the driving-instructor profession. He is also the developer of the KEEP Principle. Through Instruct IQ, Craig supports development from the ADI qualification process into continued development after qualification.

Craig contributes to PDI and ADI development through the wider Instruct IQ ecosystem, including The PDI School, which provides online development, resources and support for trainee and qualified driving instructors. This allows instructor development to continue outside face-to-face training, giving PDIs and ADIs access to continued learning and professional discussion.

Craig operates through WyeDrive in Herefordshire alongside his work with Instruct IQ. WyeDrive identifies his specialisms as including instructor training, advanced driving and support for learners with specific learning needs. Craig's normal learner-driver work through WyeDrive is primarily automatic and based around Hereford and surrounding villages.
